About
Jana works as an assistant professor at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University, researching how AI is changing work and organizations. She has studied the future of work for eight years, five of them on AI (predictive and generative AI).
Public debates about AI swing between hype and doom. Through research-based insights grounded in field work, Jana helps workers, managers and society make sense of these shifts, so that together we can co-create a future of work we want to live in.
She is a qualitative researcher who loves being at organizations to learn directly from workers and managers in the field. Passionate about qualitative approaches and engaged scholarship, on her PhD project she founded a lab where leaders in the field could exchange ideas and work on a desirable future. Before joining RSM, she worked as an AI advisor at RTL Nederland, translating research insights into practice, and previously did a postdoc at KIN, Center for Digital Innovation.
Jana has interviewed 300+ people across 54 organizations about how AI, from predictive to generative AI, reshapes work.
Her research appears in leading international and national outlets.

The lab turned research findings into a co-creation workshop. Leaders surfaced the dilemmas they actually run into, and discussed practical routes for dealing with them. The reflections were published afterwards in an open-access article.
